The ASEG is a non-profit company founded in 1970. Its aims are:
to promote the science of geophysics, and specifically exploration geophysics, throughout Australia
to foster fellowship and co-operation between geophysicists
to encourage closer understanding and co-operation with other earth scientists
to assist in design and teaching of courses in geophysics and to sponsor student sections where appropriate
Activities
The ASEG's main activities are the publication of the technical journal Exploration Geophysics , the bi-monthly magazine Preview and occasional Special Publications. The ASEG organises a Geophysical Conference and Exhibition every 18 months. More information on the conference and other events can be found on Events section of this website. The ASEG also conducts continuing education courses and supports Research in exploration geophysics.
